The 4 core minimum will be fine if you’re doing simple editing such as cuts, but if you will be using DaVinci Resolve with Neural AI and Fusion then go for a CPU with as many cores as you can afford. After tracking it should be possible to stabilize the image. The results are worse than without stabilization because I get some nasty jello effects. For the aim to stabilize the film footage the idea is to track a single point in x/y-axis reference to the frame - for example the sprocket hole or the strip/bridge between two images, by purpose being part of the over-scanned image (see image example in below). I've done some preliminary tests with my G9+12-60 at the widest angle of view (12mm), Dual IS (haven't tried IS Lock yet) and then stabilizing in DaVinci Resolve. ![]() Since it's for travel, I'd ideally like to get away without a gimbal, but it seems from my tests that's looking less and less likely. ![]() ![]() The issue is that z-axis bobbing is quite difficult to eliminate. I don't always have the luxury of setting up a tripod, and also I find the need to add some dynamism to shots like walking down a museum gallery, or down quaint street etc. I'd like to get more stabilized video during my travels.
